Another shot of this Arizona pioneer cemetery. Those rugged hills and a identical range behind me were mined for copper and other minerals in the late eighteen hundreds. The miners were mostly Mexican, and the names of villages originated with the Spaniards during their exploration and settling of the American Southwest.

Must have been hard times in this rugged unfriendly territory. That stone in front almost looks like a skull. So many textures and colour tones in this image.

Striking imagery in this and thought provoking too in light of what the movies have shown us about the "old west".

I've seen some of these mining areas in Southern Arizona. At one time it was a booming area, but as things changed throughout the years what is left is a sense of loneliness. A wonderful capture of the past, Doug.

I like your Western shots, Doug. Makes me want to watch "The Duke."
This would make a good contest entry.

At first glance I thought the title was Dos Cervezas which are typically the first words out of my mouth when I'm in a San Diego restaurant. Usually the next two words are Dos Equis.

I am left with impression that the shot is either left leaning or that you are standing on a hillside. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, Doug, and assume that you're on a hillside rather than just finishing your eighth Dos Equis.

I hope that the people who are buried there realize just how lucky they are to have such a glorious view. However, if they come to life as zombies, I suspect that they will soon die of thirst in the very dry and rugged terrain.

I'll read this tomorrow and see if it sounds as crazy as it feels. Good night.

It does sound a little crazy and intoxicating what our Roger just said. LOL
This is you, Doug, and your great talent plus perfect skills that make this place so enchanting. Not to say inviting - literally I mean. Oh, I better stop before I get as far as Roger. After all I am off my meds too LOL
