Found another Detroit alley image, and probably the only one I ever shot of loose refuse. It occurred to me that I never once mentioned just how clean and orderly those downtown alleys were maintained in the 1950's.
It so happens Doug that I just saw this evening a documentary about rubbish removal in Berlin. They have the most modern equipments and sorting system. The combustible rubbish is sorted out and compressed into pellets and used as fuel in factories. So if a city has no money the rubbish will be lying everywhere.
Great alley shot Doug. Love the tones and the contrasts are excellent . Dan and I love to check out the alleyways they usually serve up a great photo or two .They are not as safe as they use to be however .
