This is a very clear shot. I love the way the water is so nicely rippled and the light and shadow on it gives it the feel of movement. It's interesting how it fades into the deeper blue as it comes forward to us to shore. The paddle boat itself is positioned in a very dramatic fashion off to the left with the angle running down to the water's edge and it too takes advantage of the natural light which highlights the chairs. I get a sense of impending fun, as the invitation in the title suggests that friends meet and launch out on the water in this paddle boat. Looks like it was a good day for it :) However, the rust on the boat itself disengages my interest and I feel myself trudging away from the image and the invitation :( I think if this were a post of mine, I would take advantage of some of the software that's available (see "Other Stuff">"Suggested Software" under the heading of navigation to the left on this page) to clone out the rust and make the conveyance more appealing...that's just my two cent's worth.. nice post :)PJ

Interesting image. I gather it's a boat of some kind but it looks like two chairs on a box. What is it? ;-) The contrast of the lighted chairs against the water is what does it for me in this photo. You pulled that out nicely.

An interesting photo, to be sure; I really like the water in the background, captured superbly. I'm not sure I would agree with using the boat seats as the subject, as I would have preferred to use perhaps the seat supports. The rust, I think, gives the picture more character than one without, but that is just me.
