This dead tree was taken in the Henry Cowell Redwood State Park in Felton, California. The sunlight dappling through the living trees, falling upon this dead tree caught my eye. My thoughs were that this dead tree is providing a place for new life, in the moss, the other fauna, and probably different types of insects. The shadows and sunlight were amazing to me. wonderful lightning and a great shot. I know dead trees serve a purpose..here in my area they are nesting places for the red headed woodpecker:)
