this mansion was built at the turn of the 20th century by a prominent brewster family... in the 1940's it briefly became a seminary before being sold to developers who built the Ocean Edge Resort and Golf Club... (nevermind it's on the bay side and nowhere near the ocean...) Lots of highly priced rental condos, tennis courts, manicured lawns, and hedges trimmed so perfectly it feels like you're in Wonderland... a veritable playground for the rich and shameless...the mansion is now used for conferences, weddings, and social get-togethers (my husband the musician has played here)... and once again my car and camera got me through the front gates, hey they just waved me through, I wasn't going to turn down an invitation... You can google Ocean Edge and make a 3-day off-season reservation for about $5oo.oo... to start...

I was just driving along Route 1A in NH yesterday and there are many of these lining the ocean view..well, not these, but homes that must contain relatives of the people that can afford to come and play here. !! Lovely shot

:)

I think that I can afford two weeks. When I win the lotto.
Very clear and crisp shot. Especially like the shadows. Thanks for sharing it and some of the history.

My 'puter crashed the other day so I'm trying to get my new one up and running. ;-( This new OS (Vista) is going to take some getting used to. Sorry I haven't been commenting as much as I would like to. ;-) Steve

Oh the long shadows of early autumn. And that golden liquid lawn. Super. Assurredly I remember this place. Went once for cocktails with Grandmother Grunt.
A stellar composition with your signature clarity and color.
