this tree was left standing as a free-form 'sculpture' by the owners of the property... I tried to get a shot of the tree with the 'saltbox' house next to it but the sky was too washed out...taken in yarmouthport, massachusetts... cape cod bay is in the background.

Well, as long as it still stands and it doesn't seem to be in the way of crashing into a building, then it probably would be a great place for woodpeckers to find food and other uses besides the obvious aesthetic effect..lovely find :)

great capture,although i feel the structure of it would be brought out better on a foul day in a rugged,wind-swept environment.is that a wind-chime i see?good picture,best wishes as ever,si.

My 'puter crashed the other day so I'm trying to get my new one up and running. ;-( This new OS (Vista) is going to take some getting used to. Sorry I haven't been commenting as much as I would like to. ;-) Steve

The tree seems to be telling a wild and grim story, but all the while the world goes on about its business: the sun splashes yellow on the lawns, the roses climbing up the tree ignore the tree's warning, and empty chairs await people who can not hear what a tree has to say.
