I went "down cape" today to eastham and the national seashore...it was such a gorgeous day, everyone was out walking or birdwatching or riding... This is Nauset Lighthouse... "Orginally built as three stone towers in 1836, "Three Sisters." They were replaced with wooden towers in 1892 as the old towers toppled over. The wooden towers have since been converted into cottages. The present steel lighthouse flashes 25,000 candlepower three times every ten seconds." And a few years ago the lighthouse and house were both moved several hundred yards inland to prevent them from collapsing into the sea because of beach erosion. (I went down with my entire family and watched it happen)
