cape cod, and harwich in particular, has many cranberry bogs (most of them now owned by ocean spray), and october is harvest time... the bogs are flooded, using an elaborate irrigation system, and 'threshing' machines are used to knock the berries from the bushes... the berries float to the surface where they can be 'corraled' and scooped up... this was the first time I've seen the harvesting, really exciting! and in the next few days I'll post more pictures of the entire process... ;-)))
