I just love the sun's glow at this time of the year...it's like she's waving goodbye and promising to be back in the spring with renewed vigor. Lovely pic, my dear.
"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon
It's a splendid image and I like the warm colours of the sunset. In my opinion, the house on the left is too bright and takes attention away from the nicest part of the picture, around the boat that is, I personally would crop it left and top leaving little of the sky. Cheers,
Rob
This is just top notch Mary. If I ever need to calm down I'll look at this. It will be easy to find because it's in my faves. Just great photo. I wouldn't change a thing.
Love this post Mary! As well as your cattails which I'm commenting on as well. Consolidating time which I don't have much of lately. 2 great posts! :) :)
Ok ... now really ... how much are you paying to have these shots set up for you?
:oP
My word Mary ... beautiful composition. Just ... perfect.
Agree with Robs' comments above ... to an extent. Methinks you needs some filters ... Santa? Are you listening? :o)
And ahhh ... the reflections.
Hard for me to express in words the qualities of your shot here that affect me. What seems to come to the forefront is the suggestion of a journey. The safe harbour ... calm waters ... and then ... what lies beyond when anchor is taken up.
Nice work Mary. Thanks for sharing these looks through your minds' eye and lens. :o)
Talk about still waters!!! Just so fantastic. The peace is written all over this scene. How very very beautiful that glow is.I have spent many an evening at the Pacific when the houses were lit by the setting sun. It's the BEST time of the day and you captured the total moment. just lovely Mary...verena
Great photo, looks like a post card.
