I've never been on coast guard beach when my footprints were the only ones etched in the blowing sand... soon to be erased... (eastham, cape cod, massachusetts)

"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon

Fantastic footprint shot, your image captures the sense of wind blowing across the sand really well. Nice work.

The foot steps gives us the feeling of solitude and the sun emerging from the east gives us hope. Wonderful shot, Mary.

Beautiful shot! The footsteps give me a feeling of serenity and I can almost feel the wind blowing all my troubles away.
Thanks for sharing it.

How come I hear Johnny Cash singing: "I Walk the Line," when I look at this? Very nice photo. Could just as easily been a fresh snow with snowdrift (sand dune) in background. Each one shows lonliness. Great post Mary.

Those tiny ripples in the sand tell the tale. It must have been very cold indeed.
