at the marstons mills pond in barnstable there were many swans a-swimming... I caught this adult swan and one of its cygnets having a family moment together...
"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon
Must have already gone through the "ugly duckling" stage. I didn't realize what a cygnet was until this post. Now I know and also a pen and cob. Don't you just love google? Great photo Mary. It looks like it's paying attention to grooming details.
Now you know how much I love swans(I still have loads of pictures of then that I haven't uploaded - keeping those for a rainy day) and I think this is a lovely family group. The cygnet looks great in its half adult plumage (It'll soon be old enough to stay up late and go out drinking!
