the snow fell so silently that day I could hear the church bells ringing half a mile away... bells neck road in the harwich conservation area, cape cod, massachusetts....
Makes me want to go hunting. What an interesting area. I'd like to drive down that road. It looks like one that I need to explore. You've presented it so well I'll just let my mind do the exploring. Great photo Mary.
What a pretty area, Mary. Either the oak or the beeches are treating you to some mighty fine winter foliage and some extra color for your uploads.. Well done!
"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon
Regarding phasmld's comment about the russet foliage: The thing is, the oak leaves do look that shade of burnt umber. Maybe it is the salt on the Cape Cod air that renders them that shade? The snow-light is so soft. This one's a dream!
*You will have noticed that I haven't been commenting as much on your fine images!..This is because of the pains in my hands!..the constant use of the keyboard, makes this difficult..so, my dear friends..I can only apologise to you all in advance!*

Got this in the VB and wanted to say I really liked it and would have given it ten, because everything in it is so good, except it doesn't feel compositionally maximised to me, subjective I know, but I felt a little less snow in the foreground and a more de-centred road thru the trees would make a wonderful image perfect.
Peace.
