"Where there is perhaps a province in which the photograph can tell us nothing more than what we see with our own eyes, there is another in which it proves to us how little our eyes permit us to see." ~Dorothea Lange
If I may ... think of the images that you have graced us with this concept in mind, as I perceived it in some of your others ... this one stands out that little bit more.
The figure is more readily apparent in bringing home the 'message' of your photo.
Composition is very good. Might have been tempted to lower the postioning of the head, such that it intersects with the lower right thirds line's intersection point. In effect, cropping just a tad of the foreground.
Not so much that those lovely diagonals of the beach and silhouettes of the adjacent shores are lost within the composition though. To bring that point home.
I suspect that this one is about the 'watcher' ... however, the 'what' he is looking at weighs in as well. And that is of course, my personal, humble ... and incorrect opinion. :oP
"Think what a better world it would be if we all, the whole world, had cookies and milk about three o'clock every afternoon and then lay down on our blankets for a nap." - Robert Fulghum
I had this image in VB last night and thought that it was going to be one of yours. I think it is a beautiful image that has gorgeous purple/red colours and a wistful, melancholy air.
