these were in a beautiful church garden in barnstable village (cape cod, massachusetts).... (our computer quite suddenly had to be 'hospitalized' last week... it was awful, I felt isolated and at sea! ;-)) however we're now up and running and working on a week's worth of e-mails and messages... please bear with me as I catch up.) edit: my sister, Jill, the botanist has informed me that these are 'blue glow' globe thistles (echinops banaticus)...

This is such a goegeous shot, they almost look like theyre glowing the the way the circular shape is caught and accentuated by the blurred but circular background really pulls the whole photo together.
