how do I know they were just visiting? they're standing out in a bitter cold wind, downwind from the jetty with large waves breaking over it, and they're getting all wet... no cape codder would do this when there's a nice warm car to sit in.... I took this through the car window, btw... (cape cod bay, dennis, massachusetts)

Such a wonderful shot I have to put it in my favourites!! Glad you took it , and from the car. Maybe you wouldn't have been steady out in such a wind.

Oh, I thought you were talking about the gulls. I figured you knew them all by name. Nice shot and the waves do look good crashing over the rocks.

That's the kind of breaker I'd like to photograph, but seldom do as I sit in my car up here in the north country waiting for warmer weather. I may not be from your end of our world, but I'm sure no fool when it comes to the cold!

Great shot and such perfect timing.

Great colour and wonderful drama in the waves! It's great when you get one just right, isn't it?

Great lighting and color. This amazes me because I have never seen waves like this closeup.
