I have to thank my husband, Bob, for this one... I was busy looking the other way at the orange sunset sky when he pointed the bird out... I believe this is an immature black-crowned night heron, and he was so accustomed to people that we didn't even distract him from his fishing... we watched him for several minutes while I clicked away...

The gold evening light enhances it well. Wonderful clear details and pose. He is intent. I've been fortunate this year to see many both babies and adults. They can be so expressive and intense. Also noticed that they acclimate to their chosen territory. The ones in the isolated marsh seem much more skittish, unless fishing of course. This young adult is a green heron.: )

So if I vote on your image you're likely to receive a 10/10. Why? Because every capture of life around us or artificial generation of color and lines is unique and special.______________ READ MY CAEDES HEATED POST HERE WITH A PRAETOR
