... or, what's that tree doing in the middle of cape cod bay? it's marking the channel to and from rock harbor, orleans, which is only navigable at high tide... which means, technically, that those people are walking around on the bottom of the harbor... which gives one a strange feeling when one is out there...

Why do the pictures come out square when the lens is round??
Mary - I hope you grabbed some chowder, or a lobster roll from Capt Cass and sat on the flats while taking this magnificent photograph! As I have stated before, there are few sunsets like those on the Cape Cod Bay. You capture them beautifully. Faved. Thad

Would love to visit your shorelines. The tide changes there are very dramatic. I like the diagonals lines reflecting in the flats. And of course the fiery colors. Thank you for sharing it.

fantastic, I especially like the play with perspective: how the horizontal layers of the clouds are repeated down on the ground by the alternating lines of dark sand and highly reflective water. And if you hadn't said it, I'd have never guessed that those black shapes were people! :)
