I took this a year and a half ago, summer, 2008, right after some strong thunderstorms... cape cod bay at seriously low tide... it's to remind me that there's usually light after a storm... (sincere apologies for my sporadic attempts to comment or critique or just be present here... this past summer and fall the Lyme Disease has held me hostage with pain and fatigue, and then there's the corresponding dip in emotions running straight into depression, a very old acquaintance... I persevere, and though I haven't commented I have visited all of your galleries... Here's hoping the new year will bring new beginnings!)

Interesting, I even like the clouds in the foreground - they reflect a little bit of the light too. Lyme disease doesn't sound like fun, and for the holidays i wish that your life becomes wonderful and fun. So that you can put more pretty images here. ;)

Inspiring and captivating after the storm scene. I love the contrasts of color and light. So much to see and take in. The streaks of golden light on the remains of the tide are wonderful. I hope this marks the light at the end of the tunnel and you recover soon.

Mary, I truly hope that you find, in life, the light breaking through as you have with the light shinning through the storm in your picture. I wish all the best for you in this coming new year!

Mary - This beautiful photo title has double meaning for you. May it be a light for you in the coming year. Having been tested for Lyme Disease and knowing others who have had it, it can be debilitating until brought under control - I wish that your is under control and being sent on its way along with the depression. The Bay is such an amazing body of water, with incredible sunsets - and you capture them beautifully. This photo has an inspiring, spiritual quality that I like very much. Best wishes to you. Thad

Well, you shouldn't have kept this under wraps that long. Love those sun rays. What's with the Lyme Disease? You are the 2nd Caedesian to come down with that in the opposite ends of the country. Get well.

New beginnings indeed Mary..you and me both! wow. I think when one realizes they have become a true survivor, that gives incentive and inspiration, don't you. And you are so right, there is always always light after darkness. I call these times a "breather" we get just enough to keep us going and I agree totally that this next year will be a good one!
We need to keep thinking that, and it will happen! I love this photo for the same reason you do, my dear friend. Verena
