Mayflower Beach in the town of Dennis... it was windy and cold on the bay side of the Cape but the dunes are very photogenic at such times, especially when the sand drifts like snow...
I think my favorite is the color combination on this one: makes this image very dynamic, with the combination of light and shadow play. I'm not sure I like the empty space in the lower right corner, but I understand the problems of photographing reality, so I still like the image.
Stunning capture, Mary! Love the bird-like shadow created by the groynes in the foreground, and those blue/yellow duotones give your image the real wow factor. A winner!!

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
Told you it was a winner! Congrats, Mary on capturing a real stunner that perfectly illustrates shadows in a novel and eye catching way. Well done, you! Hope hubby is on the mend.
Over the years I've seen a LOT of pictures of sand drifts (none of them mine)...and I've never seen anything that is quite unusual, and yet there is no question about what it is. This one is a keeper.
