my opposites are light and shadow, which couldn't exist without each other, plus they're the essence of artistic painting and photography, not to mention if there was no light we'd all be bumping into things... light and shadow: yin and yang (*she said, waxing poetic...*) ;-)

Mary, to me your very fine image meets the contest goal very well, so a very good entry for the contest.

It's a very special posting too, because the image it's accompanied with a 'surprising' (but for the contest not judge-able) narrative.
