I went out to Gurnet during winter break and liked the way the sun was hitting the lighthouse. Plus it was a beautiful winter sunday.

Nice composition on this and the colour is very good. Seems to be slipping left a bit tho. My personal preference would have been for a landscape format but as always jmo. Good shot never
the less.

Fine Photo! Great lighting, wonderfully composed. If this thing is still functioning, or not even, it might be cool to come back to at night and get an extended exposure of it.

It certainly is still functioning...if you ever make it to the south shore in Massachusetts you should make your way out there...its very beautiful

Nice shot. :o)

Took it up to full rez ... and great clarity and detail. No noise, really good work behind the lens. Great colour as well.

If I may be bold here, a tad static regarding the composition. That said, I do like the introduction of the wooden stairs and placement within. Nice leading lines there.

Vertical or portrait presentation ... not really an issue and I think you made a good choice. Just curious if you could get some more stuff in. As in, create some distance and space on the right hand side and take the lighthouse out of a centered position.

Think, in my humble opinion ... that if you could do so ... perhaps, moving back somewhat? ... the visual dynamics might get kicked up a notch, if not two.

It's an excellent shot, technically insofar as nailing all the right things as mentioned above. The portrait presentation, very unfortunately ... gets a bit of a rough ride on the site here at times.

Don't let our 'infamous number' be the only barometer for you. It is but a simple gauge. And judging from the comments above, it would appear that your viewers like it as much as I do.

Nice work. :o)

i agree with les, above, about stepping back a bit. the score does not represent the quality of your shot. i for one would have been proud if it was mine!

This a really good shot numbers are nothing its what you think. The shot has the feel as if the lighthouse was painted on the blue sky. Very crisp and clear with perfect composition.

Why do you have to "put your two cents in"... but it's only a "penny for your thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going to?

Great shot! I actually love the composition. The thing that it leans to the left actually makes the picture look better. Not sure how it got C-index: 47. Who voted so low ?!
