Just recently acquired a few great photoshop tutorial DVD's and decided to put them to good use, enjoy :D Just in advance, in case this occurs on other peoples computers, the .jpg version of this image looks really bad so i might upload the .bmp version to a filehost.

You did indeed put those tutorials to excellent use. This is good good work.
Took your image here up to the largest resolution, and I am not sure if I am seeing any serious degradation in quality. Still, would welcome seeing a purer version for comparison's sake.
The only notable difference ... in my insane opinion, might come done to differences in monitors. CRT here. Slight ... slight adjustment in brightness and contrast at native resolution ... looks more than fine. At the larger rez ... without adjustment ... looks more than fine too.
Take a bow PSMeister. Well-balanced compositon and most certainly an intriguing image and take from below the depths.

Might be an idea, that being, uploading a lighter version.
In my messing around, some more of the detail, and more importantly, the colourations on the 'sea' floor were revealed. Nice colour touch and contrast with the magentas present in that area.
That said, and looking at the your views and downloads ... think 'whoa ... nice one', still applies.
