Tom Mix Memorial (just outside Tucson, AZ) captured 01/15/06. Color manip to make the silhouette, sky and clouds darker - the sunburst is natural. More on Tom Mix: "The Tom Mix Death Site Marker -- a black iron silhouette of a riderless bronco -- stands roughly 17 miles south of Florence. The road where Tom drove to his end on October 12, 1940 is long, flat, straight -- surrounded by desert scrub and the occasional giant humanoid cactus. Tom died after ignoring warnings about a gully bridge out due to road work, and the suitcase did its evil work."

Absolutely love this capture! Clarity and the deep rich shadow and colors are amazing!

In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:10

I've seen the Tom Mix Memorial, I think the image is a great capture. The statue it's self is a wonderful piece of art. I would love to barrow the image to expand on it though. I would like to imped it in a sunset image. well done.

Art is the perception of the creator. Meaning is the perception of the viewer. acceptance is the perception of society.

This is an awesome shot. I love silhouetted images, and the sunburst is a very nice touch.

Thanks for giving the info on this memorial. The black silhouette of the horse is splendid against that glorious deep blue sky - and touching without his rider. Thanks for this tribute to a good man.
