He's delightful Naddia and shows up so well against the background. Very nicely done and thanks for sharing him.

A wonderfully clear shot of this beauty. I like it against the rough, grey gravel - it makes a nice contrast to the delicate softness of the butterfly.

What a contrast - hope he wasn't planning on blending in! Nice capture, Nat!

Very pretty butterfly. I'm glad he stayed still for you!

Never rebuke while you’re still indignant about a fault committed—wait until the next day, or even longer. Then calmly, and with a purer intention, make your reprimand. You’ll gain more by a friendly word than by a three-hour quarrel. -Josemaria Escriva

He wasn't planning on evading a predator was he? Maybe he thought he would just be obvious. Thanks for sharing.

Life's moments are sweet. I just want to capture all that I can of them.

Hi Nadia, a great capture of a lovely summer brood Map Butterfly [Araschnia levana prorsa] I'm guessing this was on a woodland ride - the best place to see them. Still waiting for the first to turn up in UK [predicted due to 'global warming']. Look out for the spring brood in the same place next year - the markings are totally different, it looks like a different species!
Cheers,
Steve.
