This is the same bridge/pier from Abandoned, my latest upload. It was once a pier to go to the boat to Boblo Island in Amherstburg, Ontario. Since then, it's been boarded up.

The pier itself is very attractive, yet the way you have presented it backs up your title... the bare branches in the foreground, the white, featureless sky. You've done well to evoke a mood here.

Great capture! I see that including the dead branches reinforces the abandoned theme you want to present, but they seem too much out of place with the strong horizontality presented in the rest of the image.
