I have tried something new here, after receiving some suggestions on my previous post. Thanks for viewing. Please feel free to comment. ~lori. Original image here
I like the shot of the rose no matter what you do with the background, but this view really spotlights that beautiful rose with no other distraction what so ever. I want to take a bite of this rose, it looks so delicious. LOL
You did a great rework here Lori. Everything is still right on from the previous photo but the focus now is definitely right on the rose and doesn't get distracted by the background. Beauty on full screen. Thanks for sharing it. Anita
This is great, Lori. Very striking. Can't imagine why you'd be unsure about this.
Certainly, it's been somewhat removed from it's environment, but the end result is exceptional, and the flower hasn't been altered, only enhanced.
Well done.
Well, now I really can't decide between this and the earlier version, and I understand what your reservations were. But I THINK I like this plain background better...my personal preference would've made it a tone or two lighter...
Photography is a competition...who has the most expensive camera, most expensive photo editor doesn't matter; what matters is the creativity of the person pushing the buttons.

The Bible tells us to love our neighbors, and also to love our enemies; probably because generally they are the same people.

Oh, this is one gorgeous rose. Super in all ways - clarity, color and detail. Those petals appear so soft. The drops of dew are very appealing. The pale pink petals against the inner pale peach shade is stunning. The maroon background serves this glorious rose well. Lori, your work is magnificent - like the others said * utter perfection* :*>
Photographers are artists, magicians. They capture beauty so that it will last forever, and they might change it, make it something it is not. Thanks to photoshop!
