Apop. Photofiltre. The center of this flame just reminded me of a carnelian stone, framed in amber. I thought about straightening it out before rendering, but I decided to leave it on an angle. That's the joy of the undo button, in the case I should change my mind. I thought that I could turn to my friends here, to let me know what they think. Thanks so much for viewing :) Lori

Yes, it does resemble a precious stone and it looks like it is set into a ring. Nice warm colors and gentle flow around the center of attention, the stone. Pretty.

Never rebuke while you’re still indignant about a fault committed—wait until the next day, or even longer. Then calmly, and with a purer intention, make your reprimand. You’ll gain more by a friendly word than by a three-hour quarrel. -Josemaria Escriva

What a beautful gem this is Lori. I like it angled & the warm colors are perfect. Reminds me also of the upcoming autumn months & leaves gently falling from the trees. Very nicely done.

Wow! What an image. Beautiful colors. Leave it alone as is. I love it.

The name ChuPat is derived from my nickname Chuck and my wife of 34 years name Patti. Her photography will appear on Caedes as well from time to time. I consider myself an advanced amature not anyway close to being a professional. I have just taken photography more seriously since I have switched to digital. My profession has always been associated with pohtography in one way or another. Any criticism I receive will be well appreciated.

Very nice job Lori, I think it does just fine at the angle. It doesn't make it look conforming.

You are getting ever so good, Lori! Carnelian it is! I have collected and tumbled pounds of them for Jewelry, Your render is smooth and ever so delicately intricate.

Beautiful, though I don't know what a carnelian looks like. I like the creaminess of this. Wonderfully smooth and subtle. It makes me think of caramel swirled soya ice cream.

How grand life would be if we had a universal "Undo" button for ourselves... mmmmmm.... Well, back to reality: You didn't need your undo feature for this one, Lori, and I agree with you about leaving it at an angle. It gives the viewer's eye a direction to travel, along the axis of this piece from the upper left to the bottom right... or vice-versa, depending on where your eye starts. Often a centered piece will just sit there at stare back but you seldom lose when you use a diagonal. I love looking at polished agates and quartz and that stone quality you mentioned runs throughout the piece. The overlapping transparent layers resemble minute mineral gradients and the soft browns and reds are very common and beautiful in geology. Plus, when you hold some of those stones up to the light you get the very same type of flare we see here. Excellent color, soothing soft texture, perfect title; a first-class post all the way around. Into my favorites, thank you. I'm really diggin' exploring through your gallery, y'know?
