Apop. Flaming Pear's Lacquer filter. This reminded me of those thin fried Rosette cookies, all swirled with honey. Simply put, a delight to indulge in! Don't blame me if you have suddenly gotten a craving for something sweet...lol I really appreciate all your views and comments :) ~Lori

Oh, this looks like molten gold! Yes, I remember those cookies. My mom made them once or twice and then declared they were too much work! lol

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Very nice and a bit different, too. I'm not keen on browns usually, but this just works. Definitely sticky syrup dripping and solidifying, twisting and turning. It reminds me of brandy snaps - the ones you mould while still warm into containers for creams or sorbets, for example.

Then again, I've no idea what fried Rosette cookies are. Does anybody have a link to a picture or recipe? I'm curious...

Ok, for reference purposes ... not the best photo unfortunately ... Rosette cookies.

Now then ... can I have some? :oP

I think this particular filter is going to prove it's worth to you ... the visual effect is absolutely intriguing.

As for your flame here ... your narrative is important for setting the stage I think. I needed a leaping off point as I was trying to absorb the image. And it may be that you peaked my curiosity as to how you achieved this 'look' ... that I can now enjoy it, having had the mystery solved. (I 'looked before leaping' to the narrative. :oP)

The colour palette is indeed sweet and syrupy ... and this is a visual delight. Wonderful to see new and fresh ideas ... new and fresh is good good. :o)

Nice work Lori.

I am not familiar with Rosette Cookies but if they are as delicious as this image I want some :)
The burnished copper colour is beautiful and I love the flow and movement in it - like a melody :)

The texture and shadow on the left contrast very well with deeper red on the right.Your narritive is really sweet but I get something completely different and deeper from this. This has depth.
