Loacted at the Fernbank Museum in Atlanta. The model filled the entire great hall as the tail curved around most of the hall. Argentinosaurus, recently discovered in Argentina, will probably will turn out to be the largest dinosaur yet discovered, larger than Ultrasauros or Seismosaurus. although Seismosaurus will likely continue to hold the record for total length due to its extremely long tail, characteristic of Diplodocidae. The cross section of one vertebra found of Argentinosaurus measures over five and one half feet in height. Evolutionary biologists believe that dinosaurs were able to reach such colossal sizes due to a colossal metabolism. At the height of its adolescence, Argentinosaurus was probably able to gain about 100 pounds a day!

I really like the way they've installed it slightly curled up inside the building, although it had found it's way in here but now can't get out. I also like the angle at which you've taken the photo. The structure of the beast is very evident, showing us those massive articulated vertebrae but giving us a side view of the head at the same time. The critter below looks to be an Allosaur or a related specimen, normally a large dinosaur but appearing much smaller in comparison to the monster (100 feet long and 100 tons, on average) above it. Nevertheless, the much smaller predator (25 to 30 feet and 4 to 5 tons, on average) could have moved faster with slashing teeth, wearing out and down the larger herbivore. Excellent shot, Ted, with good focus, color, and use of existing light. Right up my alley, as you know.

If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.

This dinosaur impressed me and not many things do. It had to eat 24/7 to gain all that weight. I try to do existing light if I remember to take my tripod in low light. This overhead light worked well.

Considering the size, is it any wonder Fred Flintstone always had trouble ordering ribs?

Nice presentation...faved
