I've had this one for a while and didn't know if it was worth a post or not - but - it does seem to fit the current contest category so what the heck - thanks for viewing and commenting -
Although this is a good image, I still think that you all are misinterpreting the "rustic" as "rusty" or anything old. Rustic for me is more or less "rural" = coming from old time countryside. Do not be afraid, Mr Tee, the same comment I have made to quite some authors and entries. Please do not enter beautiful and interesting images in the wrong contest. This applies to yourself and Biffo and even Owd Bowb - this is to prove my being objective - I do love Richie and Bob !!! LOL Yours seriously SAM
Dave, with or without a contest, this is a picture deserving of being posted. It carries itself with a POV that I find very interesting. I do believe it fits the contest and I wish you all the best in it. Good luck! ~~ John
Marzena, is apparently still holding a grudge but I appreciate her attempt to define "rustic" for me. The image was taken in the town square of a very small very old rural town. I think it more than fits the criteria -
rus·tic (rstk) adj.
1. Of, relating to, or typical of country life or country people. 2. a. Lacking refinement or elegance; coarse. b. Charmingly simple or unsophisticated. 3. Made of unfinished or roughly finished wood: rustic furniture. 4. Having a rough or textured appearance; rusticated.
1. A rural person. 2. A person regarded as crude, coarse, or simple
SAM (Marz) is a hoot Dave. Your contest definitely fits the criteria. It is one of those that many of us would not notice to take. Congrats. Good luck in the contest.
