Before I get dozens of posts telling me how impractical this design is I will say this - I know - I am trying to make something a little different from the norm and to do this I threw caution, sense, common layout practice and practicality to the wind. Now that that is said, Let me know what you think :)

I also think this is excellent, and that the competition should not be based on practicality, but instead style, crativity, and viewing pleasure. If that were so, i would vote for this image, and hope it wins.

Looks nice. However circles would not work so well with some images. Just as an example "She Saw Herself" by TracyJTZ: I imagine most of the face would be cut off. But still nice to see something different.

I agree with samatar about the circles cutting off the image, but if they were combined with some way of seeing the potential rectangular image I think this would be ok. I really find this design very impressive. easy on the eye balanced with interest.

I thought about the circle's cutting off the images and perhaps a square frame within might work for some images, other than that:
* the design was made with layers in flash and could easily be made to work with layered vectors and html - by far the largest part is the images themselves.
* this would only be a front page, the gallery could be a much more toned down version - I'll see about making up a picture of what that might look like.

I think its a great concept but i think the black is too heavy every where - could you rustle up a version with say something like a mix of cold and warm greys replacing the black keyline colour instead?

Phil: I just tried using a lighter grey and it doesn't work so I tried making all the lines thinner which I think acheived the same ends, check Caedes M2.1 and let me know. Cheers

Very innovative design.İ like the structure very much.İt is really different and ,again, innovative one.Everything seem good to me.Sure there are details but these must be your own viewpoints so ill not criticize them.İ expect more of this kind.Very nice work.;)
