taken with fuji s9500 digi, resized for web dont know what type of bird this is , but it looks like its got piles on its head , or its brains have fell out , but either way it wasents one of a kind their were a few of them so i presume its a type of breed and not a deformity, pic taken in warrington cheshire UK walton gardens. just to add to this , i now beleive this breed is called a golden comb rooster, it was an ancient chinese breed , breed from a deformity to what they are today .. de paul

WOW Paul, this is amazing. Great detail and wonderful lighting along with a look that seems to say 'don't get too close'. Great photo. Thanks for sharing. Anita

W...T....F.....!? My goodness, that looks so odd that I am still questioning whether it is a deformity or not. Does anyone know the name of this poor bird? Either way, you did excellent with taking that photo! The lighting and colors are well captured.

Great capture of an unusual bird to say the least. The birds colors are wonderful and you brought them to life beautifully with this shot ... Good work!

OH my goodness. It's such an excellent shot that I could tell every miniscule detail and become quite scared of this poor critter. It's a catchy title, but this bird makes me cringe!

The bird is so smart his brains are busting out of his head!

What a hilarious bird!

The focus is nice and sharp and this fellow is looking me right in the eye, as if daring me to call him "birdbrain." You don't just see this bird, you *relate* to him!

I like how his head fills up the whole screen, so I don't feel I have to do any cropping.

And I like how the bland background contrasts so well with his bright colors.

How'd you get so close to the ground? You must be younger than I am!
