Hi there,

Great shot, looks like a fun time.

I love crooked angles but I don't think they work so well in landscape shots. Thankfully it's a very easy fix in photoshop! :)

I know you can't fix this part, but I think the best shots like these are ones that don't have a lot of cloud cover. The difference is a beautiful blue sky, well lit trees, and blue water to match! If you live in the area try another on a beautiful clear day. Add some saturation in photoshop and you'll be amazed how different it looks!

There's a guy in New York who you may have heard of, he took a photo of the New York City skyline facing downtown everyday for something like a year! Everyday was so different, some of the shots were breathtaking while others were a little under breathtaking. :)

I think you have the perfect location to do something like this! I can't imagine how beautiful this shot would look with less clouds during a sunset with the warm glow of a fire on the left frame area...start the fire yourself ;) jk

Overall: Great shot, great location, but I'd level out the angle in photoshop. If you live near the shot try different times of the day and see what you get :)

Take care!

JasonSemko had a lot of great points. I agree about the angle...landscapes usually don't look so good without a nice level horizon. There are exceptions, of course, but with a lake shot like this, definitely level out.

The cloud cover really does make the trees bleed together. I'm sure on a clear day you'd get some great detail in them.

Looking around your gallery, you've got some other really great shots. This one just doesn't do justice to the subject. Too muted out, mostly.

A charming presentation of this beautiful area - except that the this scene needs leveling, as there's too much tilt. The lake has good ripples and looks COLD! Lovely tall trees on display, and muted winter colors. I like the moving cotton like clouds. Thanks for this serene sight :)

I need to catch up on things so can't comment too much. But I love all of your fine images :)
