You seem to have caught this echinacea (don't ever say you don't learn things on here..lol...I just spelled that word without looking it up or looking at your title :)) *groans from the crowd* Anyway, in my humble opinion, you caught this flower at exactly the right time. I see so many now that have gone by and they're not a pretty sight once they've decided that the end has finally come. The orange spears of ..I guess you'd call that the stamen?.....are so prettily pert and attractively colored from the dark tips down to the light yellow of the shafts themselves. I think the way you've handled the petal part is interesting in that we never get to see the entire flower, but only the light purple of the tops, as they aren't important to the subject of the upload. Your background is perfectly blurred and yet the colors are still strong and compliment the whole composition. Although I usually tend to think that a black border is too heavy for most flower presentations, because you've added that extra bit of orange pulled from the flower itself to divide it from the dark border, it works well. It's funny how it doesn't take very much to off set what could have been an overpowering element. Nicely done :)PJ
