Taken on a recent trip to Haiti. This child was being educated out of UN tents because their school buildings were destroyed. We helped rebuild those buildings. There are so many stories that can be seen in the eyes of these beautiful children. So much hope.

I love the beautiful face and the sepia tones on this wonderful child's portrait.

Wow - out of the park brilliant! Interesting commentary, although I wouldn't have guessed Haiti from the minimalistic view of your subject.

great control over contrast - a worthy winner for this category I would think.

A great portrait, not the kind of thing we see a lot of around here and if the contest is the reason you uploaded it then it is achieving it's purpose. Pose and detail are excellent; the composition would be better IMO if it wasn't so tightly cropped, IE more background showing to the left of the image and above the top of the head.

beautiful shot, lovely postwork, godawful crop, this would so be the winner for me if it wasnt cut off at the ear and the top of the head, its totally awesome aside from that.
