I decided to get my old zoom lens out for some shots. This was taken at the Biblical Gardens in town, using my Sigma 70-300 F4-5.6 APO DG lens with the Macro option with the Canon 450D set on a tripod.

It was already set on Macro and I did not take the time to switch it. I think this birdie is a young Starling.

Update: My ultrasound found nothing so I guess I'll just grin and bear it. I do believe its called using muscles that are not used to being worked! That is the only thing I can think of. I did change jobs awhile back and am doing different things on a daily basis. Maybe I'm a wimp! Lol! Back to work tomorrow and I will have the tylenol handy. Geez! Thank you in advance for your comments.

Yes your right it's a baby Starling Sandi. Fabulous detail and like the effects that the Macro did for this. We have lots of those here.

So happy that there wasn't anything really major wrong with your neck. You be careful and take care of yourself.

A good detailed shot of the Starling, Sandi. Glad to hear your necks O.K. If you quit turning your head everytime some guy whistles at ya. You wouldn't be having neck problems.
Good post, Take care

I bet you have Photographers Neckitis. Very common among people who can't put their camera down for very long. LOL. Very good shot of the birdie, Sandi. Nice and clear.

Wonderful bird capture Sandi ... not only do I like the bird's pose, but I'm also enjoying the blurred plants / trees in the background. Well done in the macro setting. Glad to hear your ultasound was negative as well.

Glad you drug out the old zoom Tigz. It performed very well for you. Glad to hear there is nothing seriously wrong with your neck. I think JimboB is right and it is caused from the weight of the camera hanging around your neck. Either that or you need to do more necking. lol

Well don't this birdie look just dandy Sandi. (o:

It looks like a female Blackbird to me, but of course I'm from the other side of the pond.
As to your neck it's good that the tests revealed nothing wrong, you maybe interested to know that I've been suffering with neck ache for about 5 months now but haven't been sensible like you, & seen my doctor.
Have a good weekend Phil
