Captured this graceful swan at the Dam Pond, in Goshen, Indiana. Lots of waterways and very good trails.

These beauties might have an attitude at times, but I think as long as you respect them and give them space, they don't get mean. At least from what I have seen!

Swans are my favorite (attitude or not) :)

Hand held shot with the canon 70-300 IS USM lens on a bright and hot day.

Shot in RAW Format with manual settings.

Thank you in advance for your comments, I do appreciate them. Have a good day!

So you've never been attacked by a hoard of hungry Swans Sandi, I have, & it's quite a laugh too, their bills snap on your fingers. But alas you don't want to try. (o:
Banter aside well done on capturing this graceful beauty, I like the colour of the water.

Edit click here for a laugh !

Beautifully done, Sandi. Good contrast and lighting. I can see the shadow of the drop of water hanging from his beak.

They are very territorial, to man......or beast. They will take on all comers.........including other ducks or waterfowl they consider intruding into their territory.........which means they will kill all other babies except their own.(I've seen it done and it's not pretty) I agree that they are beautiful.......but.......I don't think most people know their dirty side. Great capture Sandi.

He he he...I just watched the swan attacking the bride. Pretty funny. Excellent shot, Sandi. You do well with that lens. I'm glad the swans cooperate with you, too.

Seeing this swan is getting me anxious for the return of the Tundra Swans. Love the light & shadow play on the swan ... he / she looks so graceful. Beautiful capture Sandi.

Those swans obviously don't like big weddings Tigz. Great shot of a majestic bird. Love your usual reflection.

With the weekend coming up, I couldn't help but think of this song.

Have a good one yourself.

You have made such good use of that lens. Armed with your natural talent of composition, this bird was mis-matched from the start. He had no choice but follow your directions.

The waters are so still except for where the swan swims. Such a gorgeous capture Sandi! Excellent clarity and work my friend!

Stunning and majestic. You captured the lighting just perfect and the stillness of the water adds for a wonderful reflection. With keepers like this, I'm going to have to call you Swan Woman.
