Shot this one today with the canon 70-200mm f/4L USM lens, and used a tripod. Thank you in advance for your comments.

I'll keep practicing at the focus! :) =^..^=sandi♥

The clarity is real sharp on the body and the right wings Tigz. Just a little soft on the left wings. It is not enough to ruin a great photo however.

As what Tick said...you might have your camera selected to 'spot' focus (Or the lens)..this will give you a deep DOF...hence the slight blur!

Maybe a small shutter opening would do!...

Excellent shot, and you are doing great with that lens!..

The L lenses have such good DOF and with this 'good in focus' shot the result is great! Enjoy your post! Mich

Great photo, Sandi. You can have the equipment in the world but it still takes and artist eye to see the photo. Then bring it to life. You my friend are a true artist.

Did you run behind the dragon fly with the tripod, camera and lens Sandi? LOL! The result is well worth the trouble. Sharp image showing all details clearly.

How do you get one of these things to stay around long enough to get a shot off with a tripod? You must know how to work magic around birds and bugs and such. Excellent in every way, Sandi.

Amazing detail and nice DOF. I always set camera on F/4.0 with that lens to get the nice DOF, I have never used a tripod since I shoot in good light. You are learning that lens well.
