She can be found at the Dahlia Trial Gardens, at Bonnyville Mill County Park, in Bristol, Indiana. I always look forward to this time of year when my favorite flower comes to life.

Used the canon 450D with the canon 70-200mm USM f/4L lens on a tripod.

Thank you in advance for your comments.

Oh, dear Lawd have mercy on my poor soul-this is a knockout. Your going bananas with that new lens. I'm serious. That is plumb beautiful and the bee is added flavor. KEEP-PAH, ah say KEEP-PAH!

Owd Momma is beginning to sound like Foghorn Leghorn, Tigz. I agree with her about how great this looks. One of your very best. The lens is doing the job big time.

Very dramatic shot and a lovely dahlia - for me I'd love the flower without the fly.

That is a coincidence Sandi. Yesterday morning I took a shot of the same kind of dahlia with a fly on it. Yours looks beautiful and clear.

I have never seen a Dahlia much like this one, Sandi. Most are large and showy blossoms. This one, with it's delicate and sparse petals has a uniqueness beauty all on their own! Love the color variation of the dainty petals! The bee, is a wonderful added bonus, with superb clarity and shiny wings! Truly excellent work! Faved.
