I was sitting outside with camera in hand, when I spotted this butterfly. I kept my eye on it, and was lucky that it decided to land so I could get a shot.

I used the new lens, and hand held. I did do some cropping on this one.

I would like to introduce a new friend on Caedes to you: her name is Pam and she works at the Calendar Gardens that I have been visiting for several years now. We have enjoyed some chats when I'm there, and I told her about Caedes. She is wonderful photographer, and does share her work on another site, but decided to give Caedes a try. Please help me make her feel welcome. You can see her first posting by Clicking here

Thank you in advance for your comments, and for making her feel welcome.

Beautiful Tigz. You friend Pam's first post was great. You and your new lens can become acquainted to some of your old friends. It really makes a difference.

Beauty of an image Sandi, the detail is fantastic. I wish we had butterflies like that in our garden.

Sandi...

All you need to do is train the butterfly to land on a lighter background. Wonderfully focused and excellent depth of field.

All I see in my yard is spiders and other bugs. Even the birds left. LOL. Very very nice shot of the butterfly, Sandi.

Such a beautiful and vibrant butterfly!! Your close up is perfect. I think the off balance cropping works really well. It just seems to fit with the subject matter.
