I thought this tiger seemed so proud and rather content. These animals were rescued from some deplorable situations, from being drug guards, to being left in very small pens, and could not even hardly move around. There are 223 of them at the rescue center, and when I go back next year and stay overnight, I will get see them all, and go with the care takers on their rounds. That is part of the package you get for staying overnight. I'm looking forward to that so much. They have mostly tigers, but also the lions, a panther, serval, bobcat, and a couple of cougars. The smaller animals are kept in smaller areas because of the need for space, but the conditions are far better than what they had when rescued. Some of the people are staffed and paid and others volunteer their time to this very needed cause. It is one of the largest rescue centers in the states.

Thanks for the comments my friends.

I have to agree with Sea, Tigz. The fence seems nonexistent.
I am enjoying them all and the information as well.

It's nice to see other people giving their time to take in these big cats from horrible situations. The people who run this sanctuary need a gold metal.

This profile of the tiger really does show that he is a proud and noble creature. Another fantastic shot.

I think proud is a good description on him. I allso think that he is at peace because he knows his strength.

He looks very regal and C. is right about saving the best for last. I like this one and the last post the best. You are very lucky to live so close to such a center. I think I would be hesitant to go on rounds, but you seem to have an affinity for these cats, so they will not eat you. lol

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
