Shot this one today through a closed window. It sure beats having the window open, today it's sunny, but very cold and windy. What appealed to me about this capture is how the little Downy stands out.

Editing: resize, crop and a little bit of sharpening, and slight border added.

I took some other shots at different settings, and I might post another one later on.

Shooting info:

Cannon 450D with the canon 70-200 f/4L USM lens.

Priority AE

TV 1/500

Av 4.0

spot metering

ISO 100

WB Auto

focal length 200 with the lens against the window.

Thank you for the comments, and hope you like this one.

Nice and sharp in spite of the glass Sandi. A nice image of the cute bird clinging on to the feeder.

I have not used the spot metering yet but it sure works to get sharpe images through a window. Great color as well.

The blur of the background really does make this guy stand out. You can't tell you shot it through the window. A great shot.

You proved that positioning the lens against the window is the only proper way to make a good capture from behind glass without any reflection.
Very well done, Sandi!

This shot is so clear I never would have guessed you took it through the window. The Downy woodpecker and the feeder really stand out. Excellent shot.

It's a beautifully focused photograph and the simple background makes it stand out very well. My only critique is that you have more generous space on the right of the feeder, where the bird is not, and a much tighter space on the left where he is. The coloring of the photo is excellent ... very natural yet strong.
