Today's capture taken at Winona lake, which is starting to freeze up. There are lots of Swans, and coots sharing space. It is 19 degrees and windy, so of course it feels even colder. My hands were getting numb even with gloves on. It's always the hands that suffer the most I think. I had thermal underwear on so that sure helped. :)

Equipment: Canon 450 D with the canon 70-300 IS USM lens and kenko DGX 1.4X converter. Hand held on a windy day.

Postwork done in Photofiltre Studio, and I used the shadow & highlight options.

Thank you for commenting.

Lovely swan well captured Sandi. I agree with you - I took some photos today - the temp. was 22°F - my hands were frozen too in spite of the gloves.

Those blues are intense and lovely and the swan looks wonderful swimming by. Get some of those gloves with no fingers, Sandy.

The sapphire blue of the water is a perfect foil for the elegant white swan. A lovely image and a pleasure to view Sandi.
