I'm back from my overnight stay at the Exotic Feline Rescue Center.

They have at the current count 224 big cats = lions, tigers, puma's, leopard's, bobcat's, and a lynx.

All have different stories from terrible abuse and neglect, and some came from other center's that for one reason or another could not keep them, due to lack of funds. One place was miss handling the funds, and cheating with their bookkeeping so were shut down.

One of the saddest stories we were told (and there were many) was one about three tigers they have now in their care, that were being cared for by a 16 year old girl, while their owner was in Florida. She had run out of feed for them, and no money, she called him and told him of the situation, but he failed to send any money. After three days of not eating, she was still trying to care for them, and upon trying to give them water, had her arm pulled through the fencing, and while she bled to death, they made a meal of her arm. There was someone there with her, but even the 911 call did not help her. That story really touched me, and there were so many more.

If you find this story to offensive just let me know, and I'll edit it out.

I used the canon 70-200 lens with the kenko 1x4 converter, and had a time with the fencing.

I did what I could to either get rid of it in the focusing, and or editing.

Thank you for commenting, and this will be a series of captures with the lens from this wonderful place. Sorry for being so long winded :)

Tigs♥ =^..^=

The image and composition is great, Sandi, but the overall image and lions appear to be over saturated. You can use the negative Saturation button to remove it, and just correct with Gamma.

I do feel so sorry about them poor kitties [while prefering the big ones to the small domestic ones (sic!)]. These turned out to be more vulnerable, helpless and finally wronged harder than stray dogs or cats, for which I care a lot too.
Do not edit your story - we humans keep on eating our smaller brothers all the time and nobody seems to find it offensive.
I am not real vegetarian myself, since I do eat lots of sea food and eggs of course !!! LOL
Great image - I love their eyes and their looks - my Goodness there are so many humans whom I .... stop or I will be edited out LOL
