As I was taking pictures here I spotted this flutterby flitting around, and watched him land on the greenery.

My first effort of this sort with Sony HX 100V. I have found so far it is best when zooming to bring it back a little, this was hand held.

I have been using P mode and thanks to Richie have learned how to do manual settings, so hopefully soon I'll have the time to get out, and try some shots using the manual mode.

I have paid for this camera, but can return it within 14 days for a refund, I bought this camera at Best Buy for $399.00 and everywhere else it was running at about $450.00.

This has had alot of cropping done to it, as I did not have it zoomed in that much, and some selective postwork was done.

I know it's not the best, but thought it was worth sharing. I might post the uncropped version later.

Thank you for commenting.

Very pretty with wonderful lighting Sandi! But I really think that the focus of your other camera does a better job. Just my opinion and I'm certainly not an expert...hehe

It might not be the best, but it's a pretty close-run thing. Lovely, summery image.

I can see you are having fun with the new camera Tigz. Nothing like a new camera to get the juices flowing. A good capture.

They never pose for me. I'm a bit miffed. But you had a great subject!

Putting your pictures in my favorites is the highest honor I can give you. If I could, I would give you an award. But alas, I cannot. So the highest praise I can award you with, is faving your artwork.

Sandi, as I already have said in my comment on your previous image: I can't give you a proper advice about keeping this camera or not. It's the same like with cars: it depends on the required demands of a camera and one's personal taste. I only like to conclude that even with this new 'toy' you had still to do some post work. A good image is not primary made by the camera but with your eyes!
Very fine post though. Think you have very good eyes, lol.

Regards, Cornelius.

You and the camera work very well together :)
This is a lovely shot with the buterfly placed so well in the frame and surrounded by that gorgeous greenery.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . The focus seems a bit soft to me - crispness I see with your Canon lens is missing but it is a good shot if not comparing it to others of yours.

You have photos with more focus, but is it possible the focus point was active on the first green part (seems like this is the sharpest part in the photo)... As a composition and the colours perfect. Think your Sony is a good one.. take your time I would do, and learn all it has to give. Good luck my friend! Mich
