I was thrilled to get this capture at the Calendar gardens.

I used the canon 70-300 IS USM lens only, hand held.

I could see this dragon moving his head back and forth, and was able to capture some of that I think in this capture.

I hope the image size works out okay for you. :)

If I have to look at another flower today, Sandi, at least you have offset the potential agony by providing us with this wonderfully detailed shot of the dragonfly. I've always wondered about these guys as well as butterflies. Their wings get all banged up with time yet they persevere. A sharply and clearly focused presentation with beautiful colors and nearly perfect composition. I'll take this sort of foofy shot any time.

Amazing capture and amazing angle. I could sit and look at the patterns on his wings all day! For me the composition is not as perfect as some of the others you have posted. It seems like he is just a little too close to the left of the image. But it is a very minor thing in what is, as usual, a beautiful post!
