The Redbelly Woodpecker-their name seems odd as they do not really have red bellies, but a tad of light coloring instead.

I used the canon 70-200 f4/L USM lens with the kenko 1.4 x converter, shot though a closed window with the lens almost touching.

This was not as sharp as I would have liked, so I put into the elements 8, and did layers, and gaussion blur, also did some noise removal, and heavily cropped. For the sizing for my eyes, this size seemed to work okay without making the image look less on quality.

I want to wish those who celebrate Thanksgiving a wonderful day, and to all of my friends, have a nice day.

Thank you for your comments, and critique, either yay or nay.

Very nice shot, Sandi. He has very different pose by hanging down. Despite low resolution, sharpnes is good enough. And the colors are great.

I've noticed these type of woodpecker's are sure busy birds. I like his 'belly up' position. The body may be a tad soft, but you sure nailed the focus on the bird's eye. Very well done, Sandi.

I always try to get the eyes in focus, like you have done here, Sandi. Anything else in focus is a plus. Beautifully done, Sandi.

A nice soft feel to this photo. I always open my window with my screen removed when shooting birds at my feeder. Hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving.

Woodpeckers are such a delight to observe, aren't they? I saw a downy woodpecker bouncing around on my apple tree, and I was so ecstatic. -The natural and very soft lighting in this capture brings out the woodpecker's lovely and creative feather designs. A sincerely wonderful capture indeed, Sandi. :)
