A Moment Captured

My friend Carolyn takes her golden retriever to this place every week for swimming excerise, and he just loves it. Ann obliged me with some pics of her and Shad, and I just happened to capture this moment between them.

I was not sure what to list this under, so went with general.

I used my new 50mm f/1.8 lens, I have 2 weeks to decide if I want to return it or not.

ISO was set at 3200 for this indoor shot, drive mode continuous shooting, and the image was ran through noise removal.

Any advice is most appreciated, as I would like to learn more about this kind of photography, dog agility, and flag ball captures as well.

Thank you,

Tigs♥ =^..^=

Well, that lens certainly done the job on this!

You captured a close tight crop, which pulls the focal point right to the eye

Good capture honey...the expression on the faces speak volumes

Sandi, really a bad lens, so please offer it ot me for a 'friendly' price, LOL!!!!

I wast just kidding. Like to say however that I enjoy this gorgeous (so inclusive 'crystal clear' as well) shot. Taken just in time, showing perfectly the real friendship between a dog and boss.

Regards, Cornelius.

Sandi, I can't really imagine a better shot for this moment...very clear, good lighting, and you've captured the fun and spontaneity in the mood...good work.

In your light I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance inside my chest, where no one sees you, but sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art. ~Rumi~

You would think there would be less detail in this after running a 3200 ISO shot through noise removal. This still looks pretty sharp. Excellent work, Sandi.

What a great moment of communication and mutual enjoyment. There is fine movement in the water.
I think you have placed them both perfectly in the frame.

Sandi - Excellent work! I think that new 50mm lens will have a place in your gear bag. The f1.8 offers great clarity for low light, as evidenced in this image. Swimming pools typically have horrible lighting for photo purposes. One would never know that by viewing this shot. Kudos! Thad

keep the lens :-) , i have the mega cheap version of this lens, it cost about £90 , but its a prime lens so the quality is better and it stops down to 1.8 so it can be creative and it can also get you out of a situation where its pretty dark , it is also small and light so theres less chance of wobble in the dark :-) , thats my advice anyway... the shot is cute, they obviously work well as a team!

A great moment captured. These 50mm fast lenses are advertised by many people. Nice to see results here.
