I was shooting the birds this morning, and had the thrill to see this hawk land in the lilac bush, of course all of the other birds were in hiding, until he left.

I believe this is a immature Coopers Hawk or possibly a Sharp Shined Hawk, but I think it's markings match the coopers hawk more.

I hope you enjoy this one, and thank you for any comments.

Very sharp and a wonderful shot - once and a while a redtail hawk swoops through the courtyard that my condo overlooks and then skims low over the lake.

Such a beautiful bird, and you have captured it beautifully. I love the shot with it's back to the camera. Excellent color, lighting and detail, Sandi.

I think it is a Red Shoulder Hawk, nice clear and sharp capture. When they fly away you can tell be the spots on the wings.

I like the over the shoulder pose he struck for you Tigz. Excellent and I can see why you would be excited. I would have to hear him talk to comment on his maturity. :)

Nice composition on this, Sandi. Beautiful bird, too. You could have used a bit more space for the tail, and if your border is the inside type, that may be the reason.
When cropping, if not using an outside border, leave that amount of extra space when you crop or compose in the viewfinder.
Otherwise, the border will affect your composition.

I have no idea which type it is, but it sure is an outstanding close up Sandi!!! We have these types around here too. They've landed on our fence before but of course before I could get a camera out it was gone :( I'm no good at photography anyway....lol....Love it girl!

I like his pose :)
The delicacy of the colours is beautiful and it resembles an illustration in a book. Truly lovely and a definite cream of the crop in my eyes.

Oh Sandi, Im lovin' this one! This is my fave! What a wonderful, wonderful capture. I love the muted tans in the background against the deeper browns and clarity of him. I for one like seeing some natural habitat in the images.
