This dove was hanging out by the feeder at my mom's. You can tell by the grass that we have dry conditions.

I love these doves. We have one at our feeder that looks like a parent crossed with a white dove. She is nearly white with a few of the typical markings.

We're enjoying a heatwave in Olde Blighty too Tigz but we don't have Mourning Doves here. Nice work a crystal clear capture with good lighting.

Sandi, in one of the trees next to our house lives a flock of these birds. Every morning at sunrise, we are awakened by their cooing.
So we are, as long as the cat leave them alone, not in need for an alarming device, lol.

Very fine post though.
